My friends know that I have been obsessed with skincare for ages, they know I have a few addictions such as my microdermabrasion or my facial steaming sessions. I swear by those little machines that really make a difference to any skin.
The benefits for instance that you get in the long run for your skin health are so obvious that if I were to choose between a super effective serum and one of those facial steamers, it would be a no brainer for me…. I would pick the machine in a heartbeat.
Don’t get me wrong, the quality of a cosmetic product is important too but facial steamers boost the effectiveness of your products and really improve your skin. So If I had to choose either the serum or the steamer I would pick the steamer. Of course, the good thing is I can have both especially as these machines are way more affordable now than it used to be 10 years ago. (No I won’t tell you my age haha)
The steam you get from a machine is way more effective than the boiled water bowl method because it is an ultrasonic vaporizer that creates tiny water particules that are said to be 10 times more effective in penetrating your skin. As I keep saying, I am not sure about this 10 times factor, (I still think it is more a marketing trick) as I still need to see the clinical studies but I can see the difference between the machine and the water bowl on the quality of my skin.
So at myawesombeauty.com, we have been looking for the best facial steamers for us (yep it would be a blatant lie if we said it was only for you… come on) we like to test things for ourselves to get the devices that suit us best. We then share those results with you guys and let you know what criteria we checked so you can make your own decision too.
So as usual, we had a look at all the machines available in the market and shortlisted 10 face steamers and tested them to find our TOP 3. I know some like to know the top 5 or 10 but frankly who cares about buying the 5th best machine…I don’t, what about you?
Among all the machines tested, this one here, the kingdombeauty Nanosteamer Large 3-in-1 Hair and Facial Steamer is our top choice.
Of course you know how we work here, we don’t recommend machines or products without any explanation. We have clear criteria that we follow one by one. It always takes us ages to do our testings and reviews but we want them to be as informative and helpful as possible. That way, you better understand how we ranked the machines so you can pick the one you prefer depending on what criteria matters most for you.
Ok, so we think this machine is the best one. Let us explain you why.
What is it?
This is a multifunctional 3-in-1 steamer that looks like a semi professional machine. This is not only a face steamer; it can be also used as a hair steamer to boost the effect of your hair masks and conditioners. It can also be used as a room humidifier thanks to its large water chamber.
How does it work?
This 3-in-1steamer combines a powerful heating element and a ultrasonic vaporizer, which basically boils water and creates steam with very small (nano sized they say) water particles to better penetrate your skin. It is more or less the same principles for every steamer.
Who is the distributor?
The distributor is the queen beauty LLC company which is pretty specialized in beauty devices. They mostly sell on amazon and have had lots of good reviews whether it be about their products or their service so far which is a good thing if you ever need to contact their customer service.
What comes in the package?
- A base unit with the water chamber
- A Nozzle for the facial steam
- A Bracket Connector to connect the hair care cap
- A Hair-Care Cap attachement for the hair steam
- An English User Manual
My KINGDOMBEAUTY NanoSteamer Large 3-in-1 Hair and Facial Steamer review
This machine was really fun to test because it was the only one that had this hair care attachement. Guess who was the lucky tester? Not me this time. So a big thank you to jessica for the review.
First impression
This machine looks really like a semi professional machine with a large water chamber, a long nozzle and its very professional design. This machine is like a smaller version of those professional machines we usually find in spas salons.
It feels quite sturdy and robust. The buttons seem solid too. At first sight, I thought the water chamber was made of glass but in fact it is made of hard plastic and feels super solid. I guess a glass chamber would be too easy to break especially if you are quite clumsy like me.
Capacity /volume
The KINGDOMBEAUTY NanoSteamer Large 3-in-1 Hair and Facial Steamer has one of the largest water chambers of all the steamers we tested. It is a large 320ml water tank (the average size for most steamers is 90 ml, so you understand now why I was impressed when I saw the size of its chamber).
With such a reservoir, it means that you could get about 40 to 45 minutes of steam which is more than enough for facial steam as you only need 12 to 18 minutes for the face.
So why such a large chamber? Of course, for the hair steam too. That is why this device can be a 3 in one steamer, which would be hard with a smaller capacity tank.
With this machine you can clearly do facial steaming and hair steaming in one go without stopping to refill.
The other advantage of a large water tank is that you can clearly use this steamer as a room humidifier. With a smaller capacity you would have to refill it several times. Here, you can simply let the steamer run and only stop it when you want to.
Quality of steam: flow and “size” of steam
The hot steam is very consistent and strong after the heating up time. The machine is powerful and really helps opening skin pores for deep cleansing.
At first the flow was a bit too strong for me probably because my skin was not used to the heat. So I had to stay at a distance of 12 inch to begin with. After 2-3 face steaming sessions, I was able to be about 8 inch away without any problem. The heat was really relaxing.
The hot steam is also produced by a powerful ultrasonic vaporizer so the water particles are said to be so tiny that they are 10 times more effective at penetrating our skin. I was clearly not able to measure that…Mind you, I don’t even know how to do it, I guess there must be some machines for that. Still, I could “see” a more uniform and finer mist around the steam.
We all had to compare it with the steam we could get from the boiled water bowl method: I could sense a difference visually and how it felt on my skin if it makes any sense.
The steam temperature is about 40° c (104 F) when you are at 8 inch or 20 cm from the nozzle.
Ozone function
This steamer has an Ozone function (the ion button), which is said to create negatively charged ionic particles from oxygen that sterilize the steam. In my opinion, this is not necessary and I really wonder if it makes a real difference. Steam is at 100°C temperature and is pretty sterile by itself…but I guess adding this function does not hurt.
They also say, this function helps to reduce itchiness and prevents dandruff when you use the hair steam mode. I cannot say if it really does so as I don’t have dandruff. So if any one of you has this machine and can give us your opinion about this effect, we will gladly add it here.
Note that when I used the ion function, the steam flow seemed a little bit stronger.
Speed of use
I checked how much time it took to heat up the water and get the steam. This machine is quick! I don’t need to wait too long to get my skin steam treatment.
Of course, the more water you put in the water tank, the longer it will take to get the steam as you need to boil more water. Of course don’t use cold water or you will wait longer.
- If you fill up entirely the 320 ml water tank, it will take 3-4 minutes to get the steam.
- If you fill half of it (160 ml), it usually takes 2-3 minutes.
If I only use it for facial steam, I would only fill about 100ml-140 ml just to get 10-18 minutes of steam, which is enough for me.
If I want to use it for my hair treatments, I usually fill up the whole water tank. The same if I use it as a room humidifier, to get 40-45 minutes of steam.
This machine is really versatile, so you have more options depending on your preferences.
Noise
I was a bit surprised. I was expecting a noisy machine because this machine has the largest water tank. In fact, it really runs smoothly and pretty silently. If I am picky, there is a very light sound (the one you get when you boil water haha) but nothing that bothered me. Of course, it is subjective, but even my boyfriend could sleep in the same room while I was having a spa treatment.
Robustness
The KINGDOMBEAUTY NanoSteamer Large 3-in-1 Hair and Facial Steamer is pretty robust with hard plastic. The first thing I check is if the water tank is resistant to the heat. Imagine if it melts lol. The water tank material is super hard plastic, and is built to withstand high temperatures. (my boyfriend even wanted to test it in the oven and see the max temperature it could stand lol.) I told him if he does that I would do the same with his playstation console haha.
The attachments (the nozzle and the hair care cap) are robust too but be careful when you plug the attachements not to be too brutal. (Little note to my boyfriend who wanted to use it….)
Automatic shut off
The other good thing is the automatic power off function. I don’t need to keep my eyes on the water level. I just turn it on and enjoy my facial session and wait for the facial steamer to stop when the water tank is empty. The best thing is when I use it for haircare; I simply sit down, turn it on, relax and watch an episode of sex and the city or grey’s anatomy. Love it!
This automatic turn off is useful too if you use it as a room humidifier. No need to check it every minute.
Optional features
Aside having the largest water tank among the face steamers, this machine is packed with optional features such as multiangle nozzle, hair steam attachment, room humidifier, aromatherapy with essential oils.
- The nozzle is adjustable so you can set up and adjust the steam flow to any spraying angle you want, so whether you want to be seated or to be lying down to get your facial sauna, you can.
- This machine can be used for hair care as it has a large water tank and a hair cap attachment under which you would put your head as in any hair salon. Love it.
- This machine can also be used as a humidifier without needing to refill the water tank.
- It also has a specific spot to add some essential oils to get a relaxing aromatherapy session. (near the nozzle). You can also use dried flowers or herbs in this compartment (but I did not try it, I prefer essential oils). Remember not to add the essential oils in the water tank or it could damage the machine.
Warranty
Most machines have a 1-year warranty, but this one has a sweet 2-year warranty. Usually when manufacturers offer longer warranty periods, it means they are quite confident about their devices…
Pricing
The price is about $63 at the time of writing the review. I think it is a fair price considering you have 3 machines in one: a facial steamer, a hair steamer and a room humidifier. When I go to spa salon to get some skin treatments I usually have to pay about $120. So, I can only afford it when I save enough money. Now I can clearly get my own spa session at home with a machine that I can use as often as I want and without paying anything.
Results
I used this machine for my face and hair for about 3 weeks. My skin is quite oily and thick so I used it twice a week. For my hair, I used it once a week.
Skin: The mist was super warm and strong. It really opened up my pores to help me wash away the dirt and excess oil. My skin was so soft and plump afterwards. I also had fewer blackheads and whiteheads. The other good thing was that my skin complexion was brighter too. I guess it was also due to the scrub that I would use after the face sauna. After the face steaming session, it was way easier to scrub away the dead skin cells. My skin felt much cleaner and could absorb better the face serum I applied. There were some days I would apply a face mask right after the sauna to increase the effect. My boyfriend kept telling me that my skin was like glowing. That is probably why he wanted to use it too haha.
Hair: I would use some hair conditioner with a plastic wrap on top and let the steamer work for 20 minutes and listen to some music. Every time my hair was super soft and smooth. I really loved it. It is so easy to switch from the face mode to the hair mode with the attachments.
Note that because of condensation, there can be some water drops from time to time, so make sure to wrap a towel around your shoulders just in case. Meaning: don’t do it naked haha

Our Verdict
I really fell in love with the KINGDOMBEAUTY Nanosteamer Large 3-in-1 Hair and Facial Steamer. It is a real 3 in one machine: you get a face steamer, a hair steamer and a room humidifier with only one machine. The water tank is the biggest one of all the home facial steamers, which is well suited for hair care. I admit I love hair care so obviously I am a bit biased. The price is reasonable in my opinion. Some face steamers cost the same price with a tiny 80 ml water tank and no optional features at all….
Of course, if you don’t intend to use it for hair care, I don’t recommend you to buy this one then. You definitely can get a cheaper one such as this one, which is our second-best face steamer. You can also check our detailed comparison table of the best facial steamers here.
