I’m totally a foxy packer with my new bag from MOO called Foxy Packer Cow. I love their names. One moment it’s a backpack, but then you move some handles around and suddenly, it’s a purse. It has so much room and it’ll fit both my camera and stuff for Luigi. I can finally throw away my 15 year old backpack that’s ruining my shoulder.

This will be a long post, but I’ll write it the way I would talk and explain this to a friend so hopefully it’ll be easy to understand. I’ll stay clear of too much technical talk.

I will be showing things on my own camera, but you camera should have the same icons and buttons, but they might be placed somewhere else. Look and you shall find. :-)

Aperture: The aperture controls how much of the image should be in focus, but it also controls the brightness. On lenses you can buy, you can see numbers such as f/2.8 or f3.5-5.6. That’s the aperture of that lense. The lower the number goes, say f.2.8, the less is in focus and the more light you get. The higher the number, say f.11, the more is in focus and the less light you get. That’s why lenses who go as low as f1.2 are extremely expensive and cheaper lenses only go as low as f/3.5-5.6.

Blender: Blenderen på objektivet ditt bestemmer hvor mye av bildet som er i fokus og hvor mye lys man får inn. På noen objektiver så står det f/2.8, mens på andre så kan det stå f3.5-5.6. Jo høyere tallet er, f.eks. f11, jo mer er i fokus og desto mindre lys slipper inn. Mens hvis du har er lavt tall, f.eks. f2.8 så er det mindre i fokus, men du får mye mer lys. Det er derfor objektiver som går så lavt som f/1.2 er så ekstremt dyre! 

Shutter: This controls how fast the curtain inside closes and opens and again this controls the light. The higher you set the number, the faster it shuts and the less light you get in. That makes sense, right? So the lower you set the number, the longer it takes for it shut and the more time light gets to get in. If you set it to 1/60 or below, you need to keep the camera steady for the image to not get blurry.

Lukker: Lukkeren er den lille gardinen inni kamera som faktisk tar bilde. Jo raskere du setter lukkeren (høyere tall), jo raskere tar den bilde og desto mindre lys rekker å slippe inn. Det betyr at jo lavere tall du setter, jo tregere tar den bilde og desto mer lys slipper inn. Hvis du setter det til mindre enn 1/60 så trenger du å holde kamera veldig rolig for at det ikke skal bli uklart.

 Light meter: On every camera, there is a light meter. You have to use this light all the time to get the correct light on your picture. Look at the picture below to understand it.

Lysmåler: Alle kamera har en lysmåler. Den forteller deg hvor mørkt eller lyst bildet ditt er og om du må gjøre noen forandringer for å få det perfekt. Se på bildet under for å skjønne hvordan det fungerer. 

ISO: It’s not marked on the images, but you can still see it. ISO is a last way out to get the light perfect. I’m going to send you this site to get the full scoop on what ISO is.

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by prints, architecture, talented people and colors. Talent is the sexiest attribute one can have, you know.

Who is your rolemodel and why?

I don’t really have one.

What is the most annoying thing people do on buses, trains and subways that makes you want to tell them off?

OMG. The most annoying? I mean, there are SO many annoying things to choose from. I think being really smelly is one of them. And if I’m having a bad day then loud stupid music coming from a pair of headsets 15 seats away from me is also really bad.

If you were gay which actress,singer,famous person would you have a crush on?

Oh.. it used to be Rihanna, but then she went and messed everything up when she made that stupid song with Chris Brown (I don’t mind that she made a song, I just mind the type of song when it comes to lyrics and stuff). So now I’m back to the boring answer that is Angelina Jolie. I mean seriously, just look at her properly. Study her face. She is p-e-r-f-e-c-t.

Where is your dream destination for holiday?

Oh. I love travelling. Out of destinations I have been to then NYC is by far the best. Out of places I haven’t been to then Tokyo is definitely a dream destination.

Whats your favourite blog?

Gah, I knew this one would be hard to answer. I have favorite blogs in different categories, but I don’t really have an all time favorite one.

Something that you hate doing?

I hate doing projects with people I don’t agree with.

What was your first nail polish that you remember?

I remember a yellow Nivea. I have no idea if that was my first one, but I remember it from years and years ago.

When did you first experience the joy of nail polish?

When I started the 30 day challenge last fall. It was really fun to be creative and to be challenged. I figured out who I was in nail polish that month. :-)

Which white nail polish do you think is best when doing nail designs?

The Norwegian brand TL Design has a white one called Norway. Loves it!

Don’t you ever experience shrinking with Seche Vite?

I do, but it’s not so bad. It’s still my all time favorite top coat and it’s a tough one to beat. If you wanna try a very good second place one, then go for Linda Johansen and her top coat. It’s really really good and the shrinkage isn’t that much of an issue.

Are you getting any of the Minnie Mouse polishes from OPI?

Nah, they are too cute for me.

– your three best tips when it comes to nail polish (for instance about application, where to buy, what not to do, etc.)

Always wrap the tip it to stay pretty longer. Buy nail polish online; my favorite shop is transdesign.com. Never start painting before you’ve gotten yourself a drink, put on the tv show you want to watch while painting and made sure you’ve done your bizniz in the toilet. Having to do stuff after the first coat is really annoying. Always use a base coat and a top coat. Don’t speed paint – take your time, flooded cuticles are not pretty.

– if you had to pick ONE nail polish as your absolute favourite, which one would it be?

I think it would be OPI  DS – Extravagance. 

Some of you know that I have a blog called My Awesome Things, which was my first blog and it’s about food. Yes, a food blog. I love cooking, but sometimes the passion just goes away which is why I haven’t blogged there since I made this blog in October. Yesterday morning though, I was watching Kitchen Boss (doesn’t everyone do that at 7am?) which is Buddy Valastros cooking show. He was making stuffed chicken breast and I thought, hey, I can do that. I’ll totally do that. And so I totally did it.

First picture, top right corner, is sausage and onions. Below is mozzarella and left image is both of them mixed. Below you see the chicken being opened, stuffed and wrapped in bacon. He doesn’t do the bacon part, but it was yummy especially when it’s turkey bacon. Sprinkle some black pepper in, throw some white wine in the tray and put chicken in the oven on 200 C for 30 minutes.

I did some whining on Facebook today saying I was uninspired and that I had no idea what to do and what to write about. Naturally, you guys came through and I was directed to Black Milks webshop. I browsed a bit and came across a pair of leggings called Cubism and thus, this design was born. Thanks for the inspiration, Black Milk!

I tried to take some step by step, but towards the end I simply forgot with trying to play with Luigi and taping up one nail at a time depending on what was dry and not. But I got 3 steps to share and they’re not bad. Only a couple of steps missing and I’m sure you can figure it out by looking at the previous ones.

(Step 1 is painting nails in base color.)

Pinky and index finger were both done after the step above.

Hope you guys liked this design as much as I do. I think it’s awesome and I’ll be showing it off for sure. :-)

TL Design has come with a new kids collection with bottles shaped like little teddybears. They are so cute! 8 polishes in total and they are all goopy glitters. They are really thick and take ages to dry, but that’s nothing a quick dry top coat can’t help with. Carnival has tiny and big hexagon glitters which are holo. As soon as the lights dim a little, the party starts. This is one layer over China Glaze – Pelican Gray.
